Spring Vacation Part I

What better way to celebrate the end of busy season and the coming of spring than with a week long road trip! Months ago we decided we wanted to spend our spring break in Washington DC with Jeff's sister and her husband and kids. This may be one of the last times we see them for awhile - they're moving to Seattle in a month! Jeff was able to take a week off from work and we road tripped our way to DC. Our anniversary is on the 23rd of April which is perfect because it falls right after Jeff's busy season. To celebrate our third anniversary we decided to make a couple of extra stops along the way to DC.

First stop: Poconos Palace Resort in Pennsylvania. Themed hotel condos with lots of activities to participate in on the resort. It felt like we were on a cruise without the ocean. We got to do a bunch of fun activities and we had a private pool inside our room! We practiced our Legolas skills with some archery, played mini-golf and bocce ball, hit some balls at the driving range, played ping pong, and had fancy meals at the palace lounge. We also had a nice view of a lake right outside our room.

It was cheesy to be sure, but fun : )

Next stop of our trip: Atlantic City on the Jersey Shore! Jeff booked us an amazing room in the Revel Hotel which was right on the beach. Our room had floor to ceiling windows so when you looked out all you could see was ocean! Talk about a room with a view! I wish we would have taken more pictures of the room with our real camera, but we were too excited to bother with photography I guess. We went for a morning run along the boardwalk and listened to the nice ocean sounds. There was also an awesome outlet mall nearby that we spent several hours at. It's always fun to look for great deals!

After a day and a half in Atlantic City we headed to Delaware where our longtime friends Tyler and Briana Kelly now live. Jeff was roommates with Tyler since his freshman year in college. It was great to catch up with them! They have such a cute home in Delaware City with lovely Tulips out front. Tyler grilled us some tasty brats for dinner with homemade sauerkraut that was delish! We also had a great time playing frisbee golf at an awesome course near their house.

While in Delaware City we also played tennis and ate at an amazing taco truck (first time having real tex-mex tacos since we lived in Provo). Gosh I love real mexican food. The Kelly's and their little girl Hannah were such great hosts and we had a wonderful time visiting them. Delaware isn't so far away, so we hope to see them again soon! Stay tuned for the DC part of our trip!
